Pelosi of Damascus?

I just saw Nancy Pelosi's statement to the press after her trip to Syria to encourage this terrorist sponsoring country in their plight as a country that has been punished unfairly for their behavior. Right?

No, Pelosi's actions are nothing short of stupid, she even made the statement that the President should stop threatening her and said 'there is a new Congress in town.' Huh? And what congress would that be?

Certainly not this Congress which is barely a Democrat majority and not meant to be abused this way. She's gone beyond the pale of acceptable behavior for a Speaker of the House.
Here are my thoughts:
1.) She can't make any real promises to the Syrians since she can't really do anything w/o the President's approval.
2.) She's a woman and they don't respect Women in Syria like we do..but Condi has done okay since she's made it clear you get the barrel of a gun in the face if you don't show respect...
3.) The President hasn't threatened her, but everyone else has said her behavior was out of line. 4.) Congratulations on raising the Syrians hopes and making the situation more complicated.
5.)Does anyone inside the beltway find this whole thing funny? I mean the White House knew she was going, they had to have known, and they didn't stop her, maybe even they sent her hoping it would blow up in the Dems faces, and the Dems wanted her to go, hoping it would make the problems worse in Iraq so, they would not loose face if the surge is successful?
6.) The surge cannot be successful without the Dems looking stupid. But they will deny it's success anyways.
7.) The Dems were hoping it would give them a chance to broker peace and be heroes? Gotta give 'em credit for trying, but that should be left to charismatic snakecharmers like Bill Clinton, and be prepared to serve up a few interns in the process for him.
8.) Nancy Pelosi sounds crazy and I now feel bad for wanting to make the GOP pay during the election, when they said we wouldn't like her tax policies I never thought it would really be that I didn't like her renegade paranoid rantings.
9.) I live in a very liberal area of Arlington, no one in my apartment complex likes Bush and they all used to hold me responsible for his behavior-like I have any comtrol over that! -That said. I know NO liberals who like or trust Syria at this time anymore than they like Iran. Her behavior does not reflect the majority of American opinion, it only reflects the way stupid rich people in California feel...
